Selling with Nearly New Sale Kent is the ideal way to recycle your unwanted baby and childrens items and make some money for yourself in the process. (We will also donate a percentage of profits to local charities). We are selling to a strong and dedicated crowd of expectant parents, new parents, parents of slightly older children, childminders, grandparents and nursery managers, so your items will quickly find happy new owners.
We hire big halls for the day and lay out all sale items as if it were a huge department store - they are displayed in age and gender clothing sections, toys, games, books, parenting equipment, Maternity wear and so on... this makes it so much easier our buyers to find what they're looking for.
Why we are better than eBay - you will be able to label up your items at your own pace, you don't have to photograph your items or weigh them for postage costs, there will be no trips to the post office, no worries about feedback or parcels getting lost in the post. Just some gentle sorting through your items, labelling them up, putting them into categories, dropping them off on the day of the sale, and picking up your unsold items afterwards. Easy!
Why we are better than a bootfair - we like civilised hours, so you can drop off your items from 10 am. Our buyers won't hassle you or barter about the price. You can sell what you want (within the guidelines, of course), at the price you want. Your items are nice and dry come rain or shine, and they are well displayed in age and gender sections so buyers can instantly find the things they are looking for. You don't have to get cold or wet, and if you are not volunteering you can spend your time as you wish. Because we only sell good quality stuff, buyers are also prepared to spend more on each item, making you more money! We offer card payment facilities, making it even easier for buyers to spend money on your items.
Why we are better than a table-top sale - we seperate all your items into sections, by type, gender and age. Buyers can instantly find what they are looking for and can shop quickly and efficiently without having to visit every table and barter about prices. Registration with us works out cheaper than many table top sales in the area. We also accept card payment, making it easy for buyers to buy everything they want if they have not got enough cash with them on the day.
How to sell
It costs £5 (per sale) to register as a seller with us. You can pay by BACS, PayPal or in cash. Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation of your booking and in good time before each sale you will receive 100 labels, a seller number and some guidelines. You label up to 100 items/bundles of Nearly New items, sort them into categories, drop off your labelled items at the venue on the morning of the sale, and you pick up any unsold items from the venue after the sale. We process the labels from your sold items and work out how much money you have made. We deduct a commission from the total amount you have sold to help us cover the running costs and to enable us to donate some of the proceeds to local charities. That is all there is to it - unless you can volunteer on the day and then it is even more fun and cheaper for you to sell with us! Many of our sellers find that being a volunteer on the day makes them become better sellers, as they can see which items sell at what price, and which ones don't. Read all about volunteering here!
